Childhood
Galileo was born on February 15, 1564. He was wanted to study medicine by his father, but he really wanted to study mathematics and philosophy instead.
Education
Galileo went to the University of Pisa in 1583. Later after he went to the University of Pauda until 1610.
Career
Galileo had a career as a philosopher. He was also a professor at the University of Pauda. He also had his own design of a compass that he sold. Galileo never really had a career, he did have several achievements in astronomy and mathematics.
Accomplishments
Galileo had many accomplishments in his lifetime. He made his own telescope based off of the the first design and began to improve it. He had been awarded greatly for this accomplishments. He also had designed his own compass for selling so he could care for his family. He also had discovered that Venus goes trough phases similar to the moon, and he saw that Saturn's moons orbit Saturn orbit in different paths.
Death
Galileo died an January 8, 1642 in Arcetri, Italy. Long after he died, the Copernican theory he supported was no longer banned.
